Housing & Homelessness Prevention Programs
ACM believes that when families have stable housing, parents are able take steps towards self-sufficiency, and children can succeed in school and beyond.
One of the primary challenges homeless people face is navigating the housing market. Housing search and placement services can address many of the barriers faced by those experiencing homelessness, such as low incomes and unstable housing histories among other things. Our housing case managers help clients find affordable housing, provide housing counseling, agency referrals, find resources, and assistance with completing housing application(s) and other related documents.
Rising rental costs make securing stable housing an issue of growing concern for low-income residents in the state. This concern is especially great for refugees and immigrants, who need time to learn English, find employment, and become self-sufficient.
ACM’s Case Managers provide wrap-around housing assistance that includes employment assistance and intensive case management. Our Case Workers help clients find housing that is within their budget so that they can achieve stability. On move-in day, Case Workers help clients move into their new home and help connect them with donated furniture and other household essentials to ensure that their basic needs are met.
ACM also provides referral to emergency assistance for rent and utilities bills for eligible refugees and immigrants. These simple one-time contributions help keep families safe and warm while they secure employment or find more affordable housing
